One of the products that I have developed is a presentation and workshop on “Social Media & Personal Branding in an LGBT context”.

More and more it is expected that you profile yourself as a professional using social media such as LinkedIn. Also it is becoming more common that recruiters and other people interested in working with you will check you out on the internet first. So it is increasingly important to understand how these tools work and how you can use them for your own benefit.

In this session I explain how I use tools for both personal and business profiling but zoom in specifically on issues & challenges surrounding protecting you privacy versus being visible to others if you are LGBT.

For those not familiar with the term LGBT, this stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. Especially when you are not (able to be) out of the closet to your boss, colleagues or clients managing your online persona requires conscious action.
